Ever stepped into a school and felt the emotions raining down? Is it a touch of fear, a splash of gloom, or that urge to make a U-turn back home? Walnut Grove Secondary ensures you leave with a grin, with its extensive qualities that shape a truly enjoyable education.
The Grove exclusives: Adding a gator twist to events held throughout the year, the Grove stands out for its power to keep students active and engaged. This includes Tuff Wally, a chaotic, lively event with teams dressed and ready to set out for a thrilling obstacle race. I’d say what truly sets us apart, though, is the exclusive Gator Pod program. By empowering leadership, organization, and oral presentation skills, the program nurtures a sense of direction for future years at the academy.
Where the magic happens: When I don’t feel like packing lunch, I gladly make my way to the school cafeteria. My personal favourite is their renowned butter chicken- one bite, and you’ll be hooked. One thing that I find appealing is how the school allows hands-on experience for students in any field. This includes students serving meals made with care during lunchtime under the tutelage of passionate staff. Not to mention, the cafeteria is thoughtful enough that they even cater to the no-breakfast havers in the early mornings. The Breakfast Club serves free, accessible food for students with limited time so they can spend their day at school with a full stomach.
Passion pursuits: the academy offers a selection of clubs where students can embrace their passions after school hours. Whether it’s a fierce Debate Club where masterminds kick into gear or basking in a sunny Lunch Buddies Club where students can extend their social skills. Students can present their creativity amongst teachers and even run their own clubs, connecting with brighter ideas that can shape the years to come.
Walnut Grove Secondary has that power.
