How does one start, what words do they choose when asked to speak about their son and the impact the plumbing program had on his life.
In school Richard was a popular kid, a nice kid and he loved being on the football team. Richard wasn’t always strong in a classroom setting. In September 2007 he applied to the Plumbing/piping program and was accepted in the program in November 2007, he was nervous at first but after a few months he excelled in hands-on directed learning, in class Richard was always available to help another student. Richard became more confident and he was happy. His teacher Jeff Dickson was a huge influence in Richards success in the program, for that Jeff we thank you! Richard graduated in 2008, he started working right away with a company he had done his work experience with. This program and Mr Dickson gave my son and many young boys a chance; and changed them into confident young men. I think Richard would be proud that we carry-on his legacy by awarding well deserved young men a chance to change their lives. Richard died in March 2014 our lives are changed forever.
Love mom & dad (Linda & Leagh) and Richard’s sister Tara.
